I recommend reading this book : Candide recounts the journeys and adventures of this character and his comrades around the world. The story takes place in so many different places. I liked this book, because these are and important and philosophical ideas, hidden through a tale and funny adventures.

I recommend reading this book for the summer holidays before the GCSE year. It’s an enjoyable way to read in French. Most of the vocabulary involves pre-GCSE one and uncommon or specific vocabulary is explained. Each one of the six chapters ends with a set of reading comprehension questions. Solutions are provided page 48 of the book. It also follows standardised CEFRL level A2.1
